"Extremely comfortable environment. The friendliest and no doubts the most enjoyable pub I experienced in the UK. No question that I will return and enjoy more great times in the Railway !!! Thanks Steve & Jan for your hospitality. Aussie Stuey."
Stuart & Robyn Uhlmann, Australia, May 2009

"This is one of our favorite pubs for a mid range pub lunch. Good food at a most reasonable price. Pub is always clean & inviting and I’m sure it get decorated every few months – seems that way, anyway. Robbies is always in fine fettle too. Although a non-smoker, the smoking shelter is the best I’ve ever seen! Tough choice for me twix Braised steak or plaice but then perhaps chicken – sandwiches and toasties are very good too – and NO – I’m not a relative of Steve’s! Just a satisfied regular customer."
Andrew Humphrey, Offerton. January 2009
