And it's now open until 10.00 every evening (except Sundays).   ;D ;D ;D

Just wish the staff would cheer up a bit!  It takes an effort for most of them to even say hello, never mind goodbye and thanks for paying.  They could do with getting tips from M & S staff and Morrisons who are a lot friendlier!

I find most of the staff are really friendly and Bryce is just brilliant!  :)

If when shopping in the coop you take a look at the average age of the majority of their customers (no offence intended) you will see that the range of goods has been aimed at them!

One of the reasons I like shopping at the Co-op is that it's one of the few places where I still feel young (and I've got my bus pass)   ;D

I think it looks super  :)

They do brilliantly with the limited space they have.  As residents of Marple we are very lucky to have many things within our town - shopping centre, banks, cinema, swimming pool, some decent pubs, restaurant's, community events, good schools etc etc.

I do my main shop at Tesco's on-line - however, I do use the coop regularly for all my fresh day-to-day things and if they don't have the fruit or veg I want then I go to one of the green grocers we are lucky to have also.

If when shopping in the coop you take a look at the average age of the majority of their customers (no offence intended) you will see that the range of goods has been aimed at them!  They can't be all things to all people.......?   ::)

"very limited choice especially in the fruit, veg and deli."

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but I'm intrigued as to what fruit, veg and delicatessen items you would like to see the Co-op stock? There are people who like to see a huge selection and then buy a bunch of bananas, a few carrots and a pot of tomato and pasta from the deli!!!

Oh yes, I was in there and Bryce was very upbeat about how the cafe was going "up market" selling paninis :)

I hope it does well, it certainly looks nice :)

In fact I was so pleased I bought my wife a small bunch of flowers on my way out!, for which I received a kiss!

Still dissapointing, every time the place is so called modernised, its alway 10 years behind Tesco. Morrisons, asda and sainsburys. theres very limited choice especially in the fruit, veg and deli. Thats why people who can travel further to better stores do. There are quite a few within 15 minute drive. Plus you get a lot more for your money! I think its still in the Dark age :(

So with the new Co-op up and running fully we now have self serve tills WOW easy for someone like me to operate as I'm an engineering student in computers.

Smaller shelves and a re-located cafe......I'll have to test the cafe out with my friends and by myself! :D

I'm very happy to see that the signs are back up indicating where products are. I spent several minutes almost rushing around the place like a headless chicken  :o

I do want to say that I feel a change of peoples attitude in the Co-op now, whether that remains a positive remains to be seen.

I popped in today and they seem to be having some sort of reopening' 'do'.  It's brilliant - there is SO much space in the aisles now.  I got into a bit of a tangle with the new self-service checkouts, but no doubt I'll get the hang of it eventually, and there were plenty of staff around to help dozy old codgers like me! ;D

I was amazed how big the coop seemed when I went in for the first time last weekend. Much more space everywhere, and I am sure it won't take long to get used to the new layout. I'm sure once its all done it will be a much more pleasant place to shop - and work!

It is beginning to look very much more 'up to date'.  At least the customers are talking to each other - usually along the lines of 'have you found such and such'.  I still miss the bacon, though!
