Yes, it's a new layout and does p**s some loyal customers off, but the staff if you just ask are helpful, and after all they have to become familiar with the new layout and changes as much as we do!

I went to the Co-op the other day and noticed bricklayers replacing damaged bricks on the wall by memorial park. They informed me they were just doing a bit of a patch-up job and the frost and water penetration will continue to ruin the wall. The bricks underneath the chain mail fence opposite Hollins Building supplies have already been replaced by a strip of tarmac - this improvement has worked well.

It's a sad case of brick spalling. There are many examples of Victorian engineering bricks in Marple that have stood the test of time. The bricks used at the Co-op site are clearly of poor quality.

Aren't the Co-op shooting themselves in the foot ?

With the modifications taking place around the ever-extending build-up to Christmas, Wouldn't it have been more advantageous if the alterations have been made earlier in the year?
Perhaps the timing is for accounting reasons. A correspondent, who visited the emporium yesterday, reports that people were ditching their trolleys and going elsewhere as " I can't find a thing"

Is the cafe to be rebuilt ? It seems to provide a warm and satisfying place for those of advancing years to meet, and A.N. Others, shame to lose it.

Can't buy my loose bacon any more - they have discontinued it!  I can't be the only one who only wanted one or two rashers rather than a packet of wet stuff.  Ah well - good job we've got good butchers in Marple.
