I knew that the cinema house in Marple had history, but I just noticed a year plate of 1879 ? on the side of the building. Do I have bad eye sight... well didn't have my glasses on at the time.

Can anyone tell me about the history of this cinema / theatre, or point me in the right direction to find info.
