Rod has recently saved a much loved but broken Waterford Crystal vase, now re-purposed with a handmade mahogany base.

Marple Repair Shop

A rocking chair rebuild from the Marple Repair Shop this week, plus a request from Rod:

I am also being offered some workshop clearances and, whilst grateful wondered what to do with the surplus hand tools. I have now identified a charity in Ipswich that specialise in sending tools to Africa to aid self start up businesses. So if you are clearing a garage or workshop of tools please consider getting in touch with Rod at the Marple Repair Shop.

Thanks to Mark for his amazing Support. If it does,nt sound too evangelical I am trying to bring items back to use not only for personal, historical or sentimental reasons. But also to re-balance this attitude thats means throw it out and get another. I hope and suspect I may be pushing an open door in this respect. Any job is welcome and I will be as happy saying nods accepting a job. Just ring me!
Was your father a Bank manager at NatWest Woodley going off your name?

The Marple Repair Shop

Hi everybody, I would just like to use the forum to introduce myself.

For a considerable time I have been frustrated at the level of disposal of items that for a few pounds can be repaired or fixed or to use an old expression "fettled". I have run the Repair shop for a number of years only advertising in Newsagents windows and word of mouth. Basically as a child of the fifties and therefore of the Airfix and Meccano generation and having an innate inability to throw anything out....ask my wife!

I have tackled everything from children toys to bicycles, completing model cars, renovation art deco magazine racks, restoring furniture and mounting figures in a display case. Beyond my capability is putting pictures of my work on here! so Mark* has inferred he will help!!

Contact me at 07976 912544.
