Wow...I remember that day. I was standing on the other side of the canal, watching the proceedings. My only really strong recollection was HRH looked quite put out as people shouted "Where's Diana?" at him!

Forty years ago today, on the 22nd March 1981 at 6.00pm New Horizons was commissioned just below Posset Bridge in Marple by HRH the Prince of Wales K.G.
