It is host by someone else.

I've tried deactivating plugins, didn't work. I've tried deleting plugins, didn't work.

It's as if some of Wordpresses css has vanished.

The web host is Plesk.

I don't know if I'm an expert but I run quite a few Wordpress sites myself, have developed custom themes and even once wrote a plugin.

Unfortunately I can think of at least three different things that could cause a problem like you describe, and to even have a chance of working out which one it could be would mean riffling around in your site and server I'm afraid.  Do you run your own copy of Wordpress, or is it hosted by someone else?

I'm using Wordpress for a website, things were going well until I updated the plugins.

I then saw the WP version change.

I'm having problems with the current version of WP even with plugins deactivated.

A very noticeable change/error is the images, they aren't displayed properly, there's a ? in place of the image instead.

What's going on? Any help please?
