There was a great turn out for the Canal and River Trust Open Day on Saturday, and we now have a selection of Arthur's photos on the Virtual History Tour to show just how busy it was:

Marple Top Lock 14: 21st January - 10am - 4pm

The open days offer a rare and exciting 'behind the scenes' look at the work required to maintain your 200 year old canal. Come find out about the history and stories that made Marple, including the exciting launch of previously unseen archived items, courtesy of the Reveaing Oldknow's Legacy project.

What's on offer:
• Speak to our experts as you enter the drained lock chamber.
• Promenade performance with guests from the past.
• Family friendly craft activity.
• View children's artwork inspired by the building of the locks.
• With more to see and do at the Marple Services club.
• Find out about more about volunteering.

As a taster some photos of Lock 14 having new gates fitted taken by Arthur Procter have been added to the Canals album on the Virtual History Tour:
