As the Sew-In sponsored bench nears completion we've now started on the one that features the Nativity sculptures each Christmas. Sponsored by the Bradshaw family!

Marple Civic Society bench is now completed, we're just waiting for the new plaque to arrive.

So we've gone from this:

To this:

Does the bench outside your shop need doing? Why not get your name on it!

The Civic Society bench is nearing completion, just a few finishing touches that we would have done if it wasn't raining AGAIN!:

Our next victim has been chosen - this one sponsored by Marple Civic Society, who, along with the MacNair Trust, sponsored the original bench installation back in 2004:

Plaques are now fitted to the bench sponsored by the Gould-Martin family:

We would like to get another coat of preservative on if we could stop these intermittent showers!

The latest Market Street bench refurbishment by Friends of Memorial Park is almost finished, just a final coat of treatment and plaques to be added.

This one is sponsored by the Gould-Martin family:

Shame the screws holding the McNair trust one in place weren't replaced.  They look rusty and naff against the new ones below.

They are part of the benches' history.
They are also security screws designed not to be removed and would be very difficult (maybe impossible) to get out without damaging the old plaque and probably the wooden slat too.
