It was interesting to see the different candidates perform but it was a shame that William Wragg wasn't able to attend as it may have had a very different dynamic if he was there. Unfortunately there was a clash with a council budget meeting, which as a local councillor he needed to attend. On this showing two candidates stood out for me, one slick, one passionate. I hope that there will be more of these with all the candidates present and I'd encourage people to attend and make their own minds up.

I hope so too, 7pm start is just not practical for most though, I rarely leave work by 7:30 and I think most now have to put in a bit more at work nowadays and can't make such an early start

I couldn't go last night.  How was it?

I didn't get out of work until late and when I got there the doors were shut. I was told Lisa Smart did well.

Marple & Hazel Grove Education Question Time at Marple Sixth Form College

Buxton Lane Theatre Space Thursday 26 February 7PM

As part of the NUT campaign to Stand up for Education a group of local teachers have arranged an education hustings.

Candidates from the Conservatives, Greens, Labour, Liberal Democrats and UKIP will answer your questions about education.

Tickets are free, you don't have to be a teacher or NUT member to come.

Please come along and hear what the next MP for Hazel Grove has to say about education, teachers, teaching and the future direction of education.

You can submit questions in advance of the evening via details on the Eventbrite Page - you are still able to ask questions on the night.

The husting will last approximately an hour and will be chaired by someone local, with an educational background who is party neutral.

Tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
