Does anyone know what is happening at the Maple Tree in Marple Bridge? Recently moved to the area and it seems to be closed every time we walk past.

Hi,

Just moved to Mellor and looking for a decent Chinese takeaway. Does anybody have a takeaway menu for the Maple Tree?

Thanks,

Neil

I ate there on Saturday and the menu looked much the same as a t was and tasted just as good.  Many of the staff are the same and we were told by the bloke who did and still does work behind the bar that the chefs are the same.  Some of the waiting staff are new and seem very young, but all were very pleasant.

Of course there is no Sunny, but I believe the person running it (Richard) used to run it, which could explain why so little has changed.

Does anyone know if it's reopened and if so as what ?

@ROTHERS - I walked past there today.  Now open again and still serving chinese food.  Unsure whether menu selection remains the same, might take a quick photo if I walk past there tomorrow.

Yes, it's sad news.  Looks like the landlord noticed that Marple Bridge has become the place to go for eating and drinking, and got a bit too greedy.   :(

What a shame - it was always a treat to go there.

Wonder if there are any suitable premises in Marple?

Truly Scrumptious is the only empty one I can think of but not sure it would be big enough.

Mrs barndoor has just received this message on her facebook account:

Quote from: Sunny
Sunny has left Maple Tree and ended the business.

Dear all customers

Thank you for supporting Sunny in the past years. I am very proud of the success of the business and the good relationships with my customers. Unfortunately in the meantime the landlord gave me a very hard condition for my business. I have decided to leave Maple Tree and ended the business. I will miss you and your family, and inform you if I open a new business somewhere to make the high quality food and good service for my lovely customers.

Best wishes

Sunny

What a shame - the food was excellent and we really liked Sunny, bonkers guy that he is. And my parents thought he was adorable when I took them for a meal there.
