I often use the free car park and then negotiate my way with two children and a pram across the road to the butchers.  Previously it has been awkward because the little islands weren't really big enough for a pram but now you can stand safely on them and wait for traffic to pass.  They get my thumbs up.  At least they haven't made the junction any worse for drivers which is often the case.

Has the council achieved their objective?
What do you think?

Improvements to the mini-roundabout junction of Hibbert Lane and Church Lane are due to commence on Sunday 17th August. The scheme has been designed to enhance accident prevention and improve visibility for motorists. There will also be improvements to the street lighting. A divertion will be in operation during the work, which is expected to last around 3 weeks.
