As part of The Woodland Trust's scheme, people can recycle Christmas cards until 31st January by taking them to WH Smith high street stores, TK Maxx, Tesco Express, Tesco supermarkets and Marks & Spencer where containers are available. For more information visit www.woodlandtrust.org.uk. Christmas Cards can also be recycled in cardboard containers at household waste recycling centres.

Remember to use the extensive range of recycling facilities in Stockport over Christmas, including your household waste recycling collections, the neighbourhood recycling sites; which are all available over the festive period, or household waste recycling centres (local tips) which are open from 8.00am to 6.00pm apart from on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Christmas Trees:

Chop up real Christmas trees and put them in your garden waste container – if you have been provided with one. Ensure that pieces are no more than 3ft in length and 2.5 inches in diameter. If they cannot fit into the container, secure them with string and place them at the side of the container.

Take them to any of the four household waste recycling centres to be recycled as green waste.

Take them to car parks at Bramhall Park, Bruntwood Park, Vernon Park or Etherow Park to be chipped and recycled. This service is available from 28th December to 22nd January 2008 from 9.00am until 4.00pm from Monday to Sunday.
