That's great news Tina, thank you for letting us know. Thanks too to everyone who added their weight to our plea to get it installed and to our local councillors who responded quickly to the request.

Hopefully arrangements can be made to ensure it is installed for the beginning of December next year.

Following a number of email exchanges and phone calls between councillors and council officers and members of churches together I've been advised by Cllr. Alexander that the sculpture WILL be installed before the end of this week.

I was disappointed to find that the Nativity sculpture was still not in place yesterday. With only one week to go to Christmas this is cutting it very fine.

This morning I have written to our local councillors asking them to raise the priority of this with the department who will be carrying out the work to ensure it is installed as soon as possible next week.

If you feel this is important too please reinforce my request by letting our councillors know how you feel. Their email addresses are listed below:

I've made enquiries about the nativity statue on Market Street as I think it's a great feature for Christmas and I was hoping that it would be installed every year. I've learnt that it is the Churches Together group who are responsible for it (so well done to them! ) and that it is due to be fitted by the Council very soon, which is great news.
