Digging around in the depths of my memory, I can't remember a house there prior to the "Spanish" style ones that are there now. I seem to remember that immediately before they were built there were mature trees on the site so "Inglenook" must have been long gone then. (I hope I'm in the right place!)

The name 'Inglenook' appeared on some old directories from the early 1900s. I am also interested in finding out more as part of some local history research.

Does anyone have any information or pictures about a house that used to be on the corner of Arkwright Road / Brabyns Brow? If you walk along the road and look at the wall you can make out a stone gate post which has the name of a house that used to be there. I've asked friends and family but no one can shed any light on it. Any ideas anyone?
