Thanks Heather and Admin (how formal!  ':p'  ) for your replies.

Mum tells me that we lived in that ground floor flat until I was about 2 and half years old (April 1961 to November 1963) and apparently she used to be able to sit in the bath and listen in!  How times have changed. These days you can't even hear the film outside the cinema doors at our local Odeon such is the soundproofing!

It's interesting that a Mr Corbett also lived in them. My grandma's first husband (my mums dad) was Edwin Corbett.  No relation I dont think.  Although I could be wrong!
As the flat is now a wine bar I'll be able to pop in when I'm next in Marple - just for old times sake, although I dont rememeber anything at all about living at this address.
Thanks again for your help
Netty

Hi Enchantia,

Follow this link and then click on Bramble's Cafe / Wine Bar on the left hand menu. It's been a wine bar for a good many years now, although it has changed hands and appearances several times.

Hi Everyone
can anyone tell me what the current use of 12 Stockport Road is?  I'm told that this is the building next door to the Regent Cinema. Back in 1960 my mum and dad lived there in the ground floor flat and I'm curious to know what it's current use is.  Thanks
