does any one know anything about a road accident near the canal bridge at the top of stockport road a couple of weeks ago? It was at the junction near the park.

There seemed to be someone knocked over and looked in quite a bad way when we went past it.

Just wondering if he was ok.

I came back off holiday last night to find that two of my freinds had been attacked last week (both on seperate occasions) on the road going from Dolcevita to Marple Con Club.
Both described the attackers as 3 young males wearing hoods or balaclavers.
This was very disturbing for me as not only are they both my friends but it could happen to me or anyone of you.....both freinds were just 'minding there own business' but im afraid i think that is all you have to do to attract unwanted attention.
One of the attackers dropped there mobile phone and in an attempt to capture some evidence on who they were, my girlfriend picked it up and treid to get away....but as a result had a bottle put around her head......my other male friend was hit in the face but luckily being the good runner he is he got away. I think it is important that we make others aware of any incidents, particulary when they are occuring in a certain spot. I don't think we should shy away from the crime that is happening and it shouldn't be hidden from the public.
Being made aware could prevent many more incidents like these occuring.

Not that I want to worry folk, but its best to be aware.

One night last week after I had left the Ringers at about 11pm, (not the quiz night) I noticed a white male about six ft and wearing a dark wooly headwarmer. He walked from the direction of Waterside and stopped outside the houses opposite the Con club. He was just leaning on the wall, but my "gut feeling" was to be wary of him.

I have checked with Peter (Landlord at the Ring o' Bells) and he tells me he had a poster up in the pub for a week after one incident, although I didn't notice it myself. On Sunday 13th at about 11.15 p.m. a regular in the pub was going home after having a couple of beers when he was stopped at the junction of Mount Drive & Cynthia Drive by a man with a kitchen knife. The mugger was aged approx. 20, six feet tall and wearing a black wooly hat. He duly separated the regular from his wallet and having ascertained that he had no mobile phone, he scarpered. The victim was shaken but unhurt, the police were informed but as far as Peter knows no one has been apprehended.
