Mellor Well Dressing 2021

Although Mellor Country Fete was cancelled, the dressing of Mellor Well went ahead and there was a small ceremony to bless it on Saturday 17 July 2021. The theme of the stunning display is Beatrix Potter. A dozen photos from Arthur Procter have been uploaded to the Virtual Tour this morning:

Sadly these events were cancelled when the government delayed the lifting of Covid19 restrictions until 19 July.

MELLOR CHURCH COUNTRY FETE – SATURDAY JULY 17TH - CANCELLED

Location: Church Road, Mellor. SK6 5LX

Mellor Church is excited to announce that, all being well, their annual fete will take place on July 17th.

With no fete possible last year, this will be a very special occasion.

Come and join them for fun and games on the church field from 1pm when new Rose Queen Hannah will be crowned.

Then take your pick of all the activities on offer:
  • Let your Teddy catapult to Mars!Could your dog win a prize in the wacky ( waggy !) Dog Show?
  • Try your luck on the amazing human fruit machine!
  • Bring your children for the fun of all the races- and the Punch and Judy show- and the face-painting-and the bouncy castle!
  • Show your skill at golf and football!
  • Join the infamous tug-of-war which traditionally is the final event of the afternoon!
  • Try Glyn’s mouth-watering beefburgers and wash them down with a glass of beer or wine from the ever-popular beer tent!
  • Enjoy our locally-renowned afternoon teas.
  • Stock up on home-made produce in the big marquee.
  • Lots of side-shows, bric-a- brac, 2 tombolas, plants, toys.
AND AFTER ALL THAT-  at 7pm: BAND ON THE HILL

Come and sit in the evening sunshine ( we hope ) and listen to Frank Renshaw’s “Vintage and The Allstars” while enjoying a drink from the beer tent.

Entry to the fete by programme-£3.  Available at the gate.

“ We will, of course, follow all the government guidelines at the time in terms of covid security “
