St Martin’s Low Marple Christmas Tree Festival 2019

This year the Christmas Tree Festival at St. Martin's Church runs from Friday 6 December until Sunday 8th December, with most of the trees remaining in place until early in January.

Visitor can view the trees as follows:

Before or after the concert on Friday evening, 6th December. The concert will start at 7:00 pm, and the church will be open from 6:30 pm. Tickets are £6.00 for adults, £1.00 for children and this includes mulled wine or a soft drink, and mince pies in the church hall after the concert. Some of the craft stalls may also be open on Friday evening so that you can do some Christmas shopping.

On Saturday 7th December the church will be open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, and there will also be a craft fair in the church hall where refreshments will be on sale. Admission is by programme which costs £1.00 per adult – accompanied children are admitted free of charge.

On Sunday 8th December the church will be open from 9:30 am for you to view the trees before our Mass and Toy Service which begins at 10:00 am; and following the service the church will remain open until 4:00 pm. (Donated toys are distributed to children who would otherwise receive nothing. If you would like to donate any toys but you are unable to attend the Sunday service please let me know and we can make alternative arrangements).

The Lady Mayor of Stockport and her Consort will judge the trees on Saturday 7th December at 12:00 noon. Visitors are also invited to vote for their favourite tree. This is not connected to the Mayor’s vote. You can vote on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and the votes will be counted after the church closes on Sunday. The winners will be notified as soon as possible. Small prizes will be awarded for the winning trees.

The church will also be open 9th to 21st December between 2pm and 4pm each day to see the trees and / or take time out to relax in God's presence. A member of the ministry team will be around should you feel the need to talk. A 3.45pm there will usually be a short meditation and prayer.
