This was a very interesting event organised by the Parliament Project.  The Parliament Project is a cross-party group aimed at encouraging more women to enter politics. The event made me consider how we could encourage more women to enter politics at a local level.

The first step for anyone thinking about getting involved in politics is to join a party and become active within it locally.  The following women are all involved with their chosen party and have agreed to be a point of contact for any woman wanting advice about where to start:

Carolyn Leather (Green Party) @Carolyn Leather

Claire Vibert (Labour Party) @Claire Vibert

Yvonne Collier (Conservative Party) @yvonnecollier

Catherine Redfern (Liberal Democrats) enquiries@Lisasmart.org.uk

Dianne Coffey (Women's Equality Party) womensequalitystockport@gmail.com
