The weather is good for how long I have no idea - but if you are coming to Melbourne in March there will be plenty for you to do. Â Moomba is on and lasts a couple of days - a great big fair like Marple in a way with rides and side shows. Â This is along the banks of the Yarra River with a laser show at night - absolutely fantastic. Â You can go along and watch the water skiing from the bank of the River and cook a BBQ on the 'free' electric BBQ's provided by the council. Â It is a fantastic day and if you are there when it's on, I can whole heartedly recommend it.
The Melbourne Festival of Food and Wine starts next week - think it's only on for a week though but if you get the chance you will have a ball.
St Kilda has an arts & crafts market on Sundays - lovely way to recover from a hangover! Â Also in St Kilda is Luna Park which is a fun fair - a bit like Alton Towers, loads of brilliant pubs along the beach and fab restaurants. Â Do the cafe thing for breakfast - can't beat it if you are a people watcher - you may even see some celeb's roller blading along the prom!
The Comedy frestival is on over Easter - so there will be loads of things to do - some will be in Melbourne and then the outskirts - ie St Kilda - as you can gather it really is the place to be.
As for creepy crawlies - well I have to tell you that they are there. Â Most of the things is Victoria can't do you much harm, but you do have to be vigilant. Â We have hairy spiders called Huntsmen - will bite but very rarely as they scarper as soon as they see you. Â The white-tail spider is little and black with a white-tail - hence then name - that does bite - pretty nasty but not lethal! Â As for Sydney and Perth - red-back spiders in Sydney and more snakes than Victoria - I wouldn't worry too much though if I were you - when I was there - saw nothing. Â There is too much to do in Sydney to even start telling you about which I am sure you will find.
Perth - well what to do in Perth? Â There's load to do but you have to go on a boat trip along the Swan River - fabulous, there are dolphins and everything, they swim along side the ferries just brilliant you have to do that! Â Get over to Rottnest Island too - no transport on the island but you can hire bikes - and you HAVE to wear a helmet - bad hair day or what!
There is SO MUCH to do everywhere - I am sure you will have the time of your life - Aussies are brilliant - they love the English accent and will have you talking to them just to hear your voice - gets on your nerves sometimes but it is great to be the centre of attention!! Â The scariest thing that I have found since living here is the Police carry guns and everyone is mad on the roads - they overtake in EVERY lane and most roads are at least 3 lanes wide.
Anyway if you want anymore details let me know - I hope you have a ball, but if you are a tea drinker, I recommend that you bring your own tea bags - I have Mum ship me over PG Tips twice a year!
