Ring o' Bells Fun Quiz
« Reply #91 on: February 04, 2005, 05:46:14 PM »
£142 raised for Otterspool Animal Sanctuary on Wednesday takes the total over two weeks to a fantastic £272!

The excitement of a play-til-it's-won Higher and Lower Game was soon over with the £100 Jackpot prize being won at the first attempt, the second time that's happened.

Next week's quiz on Wednesday 9th February is for.. doh! - can't remember - will update when Peter reminds me ''

The quiz last night raised another £82 towards the Iron Bridge Restoration fund and, despite coming incredibly close, the Higher and Lower Game £100 Jackpot wasn't won.

This means that at next week's quiz for the Otterspool Animal Sanctuary it will be played 'til it's won - or at least until every ticket has been drawn.

£130 was raised for the Otterspool Animal Sanctuary at the quiz last night and the Higher and Lower Game wasn't won - after some appalling pairs were drawn!

It's the Iron Bridge to benefit next week, and if the H&L £100 jackpot remains elusive again there will be another 'play 'til it's won' night the following week.

A very good turnout on Wednesday resulted in a further £127.50 being raised for the victims of the Asian Tsunami Disaster, making a total of £348 over the two weeks.

The Higher & Lower Game wasn't won.

Next week's quiz on Wednesday 12 January will be for The Marple Locks Heritage Society.

It's worthy of note that a total of £4225.82 was raised at the Ring 'o Bells quizzes during 2004 for a whole host of mainly local charities. An excellent achievement and a hard act to beat this year - not impossible though, if even more of you come along each week - it's the place to be on a Wednesday night in Marple '<img'>

In view of the ever worsening picture emerging from South Asia it has been decided that the quiz on Wednesday 5th January will again be used to raise funds to help the victims of the Tsunami Disaster.

Every pound counts, so let's hope we have a huge turnout and see if we can do as well as last week.

Although last night's beneficiary was intended to be the Iron Bridge Project, in view of recent events in Asia it was decided to donate the money raised to help victims of the South Asian Tsunami Disaster.

The quiz and the Higher and Lower game raised £120.50. However, the winner of the the H & L Jackpot entered into the spirit of the evening by donating the £100 prize to the charity pot, taking the total to £220.50.

Next week's quiz on Wednesday 5th January will be for the Marple Locks Heritage Society.

This weeks quiz was for Schlerderma Research again and was incredibly busy. As a result a fantastic £132.50 was raised bringing the total over the 2 weeks to £217.
The Higher & Lower game nearly went with the last card turning out to be a pair. On the bright side that means that the £100 is still up for grabs!!!
Business as usual next week the 29th Dec. when the quiz will be in aid of the Iron Bridge Restoration Project.

Merry Christmas from all at the Ringers Quiz!!!!

The quiz on Wednesday 15th raised £84.50 for Scleroderma Research and the previous one, on the 8th, raised £107 for Riding for the Disabled. The Higher and Lower game was not won on either night, so the £100 Jackpot is still up for grabs.

The next quiz on Wednesday 22nd will again raise money for Scleroderma Reseach, and will be a special Christmas Quiz.

Not sure how much was raised at last Wednesday's quiz, or how the Higher and Lower game went, as we spent the week in Wales and could not attend. Will update when we learn.

The next quiz on Wednesday 15th will be in aid of Scleroderma Research.

£82 was raised towards the Iron Bridge Restoration Project on Wednesday. The Higher and Lower Game wasn't won, so the next Jackpot is starting to build up again after a serious hammering over the last few weeks.

Next week's quiz on Wednesday 8th will be in aid of Riding for the Disabled again, and will have a guest presenter!

Another well attended quiz last night with 22 teams taking part. £95 was raised for Riding for the Disabled and the Higher and Lower jackpot of £100 was won at the third attempt, after the first two had both got down to the last card!

There is still enough in the kitty for another £100 jackpot prize next week, when the quiz will raise money for the Iron Bridge Restoration Project again.

Last night's quiz raised £94.50 for Marple Carnival Charities, taking their two week total to an excellent £180.50.

Lots of pairs in the Higher and Lower Game (nothing for a pair! ) means that the £100 jackpot will carry forward to next weeks quiz, on Wednesday 24th November, which will be in aid of Riding for the Disabled.

Coincidentally, £86 was raised for the Poppy Appeal at the quiz on 10th November - exactly the same amount as last week.

Next week's quiz on the 17th will be the second for the Carnival Committee's Charities.

The H&L Game wasn't won and the prize will still be £100!

£86 raised for Marple Carnival Charities Committee last night and the Higher and Lower game £100 jackpot was won again!

Despite being won for the third time in quick succession the H&L jackpot will still be £100 at next week's quiz, on Wednesday 10th November, which is a special in aid of the Poppy Appeal.
