Ring o' Bells Fun Quiz

Back to usual attendance levels last night with £126.50 being added to last week's figure to give a respectable two quiz total of £216.50 for the Fire Cadets.

Not sure how the Higher and Lower went, or who the next quiz will benefit, as had to leave before the night was over. Peter or I will add the details later.

£120.50 was raised for Fragile X last night, and it's the same cause next week. The Higher & Lower £100 Jackpot was won by a group of folks on holiday on the canals and they handed most of it straight back across the bar!

With a record 29 teams taking part last night the Ringers' was packed to the rafters and raised £142.50 for Tracy's Cycle Ride across Peru (in aid of MacMillan Cancer Care). Of course the cream still rose to the top with a stunning win! The 2 week total for Tracy was an equally stunning £272.50! Don't forget you can add to that total by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/tracyherod.

For the next two weeks the quizzes will raise money for Fragile X. To learn more about this genetic condition visit  www.fragilex.org

£130 was raised towards Tracy Herod's cycle ride across Peru in aid of McMillan Cancer Care on Wednesday night. You can read more about Tracy's adventure and make a contribution too, as we have done, at: http://www.justgiving.com/tracyherod. Hopefully a similar amount will be raised at the second quiz next week.

It was a good night for those who had their tickets drawn on the Higher and Lower Game, with £30, £20 and £50 prizes being won in quick succession. Long may it continue!

Another £101.50 was raised for the St. John's School for the Deaf last night. Plus an exciting but ultimately fruitless three rounds of Higher and Lower!

The next two weeks' quizzes will raise money for McMillan Cancer Care on behalf of one of the Ring o' Bells lady regulars who is doing a sponsored cycle ride across Peru! Now that really does sound exciting  ':p'

£93 was raised for the St. John's School for the Deaf at last night's quiz and it's the same cause next week.

A dramatic Higher and Lower Game was lost on the last card, leaving the us for another try at the Jackpot next week too.

£98 is the sum raised for New Horizons last night, with a £30 win on the Higher and Lower, and one card away from the Jackpot for the final contestant.

Next week it's New Horizons again and you WILL be able to hear the Sound of Music!

A busy quiz meant a struggle for seats but also a great result for Stockport Portage, with £127 being raised. That gives them a fine 2 week total of £234.50!

The Higher and Lower £100 Jackpot was also won at the 3rd and final attempt.

New Horizons will be the beneficiary for the next two quizzes.

The Stockport Portage Service is better off by £107.50 after last night's quiz, which was present Landlady Pat's last. Next week will be for the same cause and the winning team will be on a 10 point penalty (doh! ) and the new Landlords Peter and Sue will be in charge.

Good luck to them and long may this excellent quiz continue to raise money for a huge variety of good causes.

Last night's quiz raised another £102 for Otterspool Animal Haven, taking their two week total this time to a very respectable £243. Highlight of the night was Lucky Eddie NOT winning the Higher and Lower Game, but how does he keep buying the ticket that gets pulled?

The next two quizzes will be for the Stockport Portage Service, which I think is to do with special needs teaching for pre-school children in the area.

See you Wednesday (BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! )

It was the Otterspool Animal Haven that benefitted from last night's quiz - to the tune of £141, no less! It'll be the same cause next week too, on Wednesday 5th June

An almost identical amount raised as last week for Young Sound and Vision takes their two week total to £178.70. Thanks again to Eddie for running the quiz, back to normal next week but not sure who the charity is going to be. Will update when we find out.
