Good, it takes a bureaucratic moron to introduce such a stupid scheme.
q

Why do you say that it worked very well. It might now be no longer needed but initially it was a very good idea and those behind trying to make things work for us certainly don't deserve public abuse. Particularly when they are unable to respond.

There are more odd numbered days than even (31st May and 1st June in succession for example), but they're still dishing out two days in succession in random places anyway.

Further silliness can abound as people with multiple vehicles in the same household could take advantage of it (provided they presciently bought both odd and even of course).

C-19 is a bureaucrat's dream, so not surprised at all this. Expect more in the months and years to come.

Why can’t access be on even days with even number plates and odd days for odd number plates?  It takes a bureaucrat to devise such a stupid system as Stockport has implemented.

It was implement by Recycle for Greater Manchester across all their sites so you can't blame Stockport council for this silliness

Understand that Rose Hill reopens on the 30th though with number plate restrictions as per other centres. (via a FB post from Cllr Steve Gribbon)

Yes I have.  The day before they shut it.  I think it was because of social distancing.

Going back to the Waste Authority’s claim that Railway Road is too short for the queue that would build up if they were to reopen Rose Hill Tip, has anyone ever seen a queue that was so long that it stretched out on to Stockport Road.  I’ve lived here for over 30 years and I haven’t.

We don't actually need to visit the tip, but fortunately, my car has an even number and my wife's has an odd number, so we wouldn't have to bother about that restriction!

If you're tempted to make a trip to Bredbury or Adswood this weekend, here's some guidance on even and odd numbers:

It'll be Facial recongnition next!
I can see this whole thing turning into a complete fiasco, people kicking off at the front of the queue because they don't have the correct ID, horns blasting from those back in the queue, others taking every but of rubbish they want to get rid of but putting it in a bag to disguise it and hi-viz clad operatives trying their best to keep the peace who, to be honest aren't employed for their diplomacy skills.

Be glad then that this will be happening some miles away then  ;)
