Some people deemed to be extremely vulnerable to the effects of Covid-19 by medical advisers haven’t received a letter from the government.

You can self-register for support if you are in this category on the government website:

To add another to the takeaway list, I've been talking to Jim at Nasi Lemak Manchester (+44 7551 925129). They do Malaysian street food, normally at pop-ups outside Beer Traders and the like. At the moment he's doing delivery of meals ready to reheat and is covering Marple on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Meals can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days before eating, or can be frozen.

Just had a post by @wheels in a separate thread that may be really useful to some, so I'm copying it here too:

Just came across this which might be of interest to some.

Part of Stockport Libraries role is providing hearing aid batteries for our customers.

As we are closed we are still able to provide this service.

If you need hearing aid batteries please email libraries@stockport.gov.uk telling us your name, address and the type of hearing aid batteries you require or telephone 0161 217 6009 and hold to speak to an operator.

Please share with closed Facebook groups to make sure this information reaches as many people as possible.

Can't see Hollins on this list are they still open, I know I can ring to see and I have not been to Marple, over seventy.

Hollins of Marple should have been on the list and it is now. However, I would advise you to think hard about whether you really need to go.

They have recently published the following statement on their FB page:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: REVISED OPENING TIMES

Following the latest advice from the government as a hardware store we can continue to open to provide an essential service to the community of Marple and surrounding areas.

In order for us to protect the health and well-being of our staff and customers we will be asking everyone who needs to visit the store to comply with the latest social distancing regulations.

We will now only allow 5 customers in to the store at a time. If you are required to queue to enter the store you must remain at least 2 metres away from the next person ensuring we adhere to the latest government measures. We will continue to accept cash payments and chip and pin transactions however, where possible we will ask you to pay using contactless technology.

This is a challenging and unnatural set of rules we must all follow to help reduce the spread of coronavirus and protect the service vulnerable members of our community depend on.

Whilst we have no way of enforcing these measures we ask for your patience, understanding and compliance at this time.

Revised opening times as of 24th March:
Monday CLOSED
Tuesday 10:00-16:00
Wednesday CLOSED
Thursday 10:00-16:00
Friday CLOSED
Saturday 10:00-16:00
Sunday CLOSED

From the team at Hollins.
