Marple Bridge Summer Street Party Sunday 26 May 2019

This years Marple Bridge Association Summer Street party is on Sunday 26th May. The MBA close Town Street and put out tables along the street. You just bring chairs and a picnic. The bars and restaurants will be open as always. The John Cooper Band will be playing again this year. Tickets are on sale at Marple Bridge Post Office and the Northumberland Arms. £5 adults £2 children under five's free.

This is a final courtesy reminder from the Marple Bridge Association regarding the closure of Town Street, Marple Bridge on Sunday 26th May 2019.

The street will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 11.00 hrs to 18.00 hrs. Diversions will be in place along Longhurst Lane, Hollins Lane, Constable Drive, Hogarth Road, Bonnington Rise and Lower Fold, if approaching from Mellor and vice versa if approaching from Marple or Compstall.

Stewards will be on duty on Town Street to assist emergency vehicles if required and to direct pedestrian traffic.

All businesses in Mill Brow, Mellor and New Mills will be fully accessible via the diversions and are open as usual.

Please be advised that the Marple Bridge Association has been granted permission, by Stockport M.B.C.,  to close Town Street, Marple Bridge, on 26th May 2019 to vehicular traffic  from 11.00hrs to 18.00hrs. During these hours, the Association's Annual Street Party will take place along the whole length of Town Street.

Diversions will be in place to direct traffic along Bonnington Rise, Hogarth Road, Constable Drive and Hollins Lane (and vice versa), for traffic heading to and from Mill Brow, Mellor and New Mills. Businesses in these areas will be open as usual.

Stewards will be on duty to assist the emergency services and local residents of Town Street. Pedestrian access will be available throughout the event.
