A report on the Compstall Fete from MBA Chairman Phil Cooke has been published on the main site this morning.

Well done for raising over £700 for the Compstall Community!

Compstall Fete is this Saturday from 1-5 pm, they have Glossop brass band, kids crafts,  kids races, best dressed prince and princess competition, splat a rat, coconut shy, spin the wheel, cakes, tombola, lamb petting, hook a duck, penalty shootout etc.  The Andrew arms will be selling drinks, burgers and hot-dogs.

Good afternoon

The proposed garden party on May 19th is looking in good shape but there is always room for people who want to come down and help on the stalls, games and activities.

Donations of prizes are also welcome for the raffle and tombola. If the weather is anything like today then it should be a fantastic family event. I'm really pleased to be involved in this, the green is looking beautiful (please see picture on the link).

Kind regards

Good morning

Further to the message from a couple of days ago, these are the proposals for the garden party:

Activities include

Picnic on the green
Prince and princess fancy dress competition
Sports day games
Face painting
Cake stall
Tombola and
We have had some really great raffle prizes donated.
We also have had BBC Radio Manchester wanting to do a live broadcast from our show so we’re hoping some bands might like to volunteer their time and play a set for us.

We also thought about asking a brass band to come and play (in keeping with the British theme)

It is 1-5 on the green next to the recreation park Saturday 19th May.
The Andrew Arms will do burgers/hotdogs and alcohol in plastic glasses.

The group are asking for interest from potential volunteers/vendors/stall holders. Please just post on here if you would like more information. There is a meeting at 7pm at the Andrew Arms in Compstall tomorrow night, all are welcome to attend.

Thanks for reading this

Kind regards

Good morning site members

I attended a meeting at the Compstall residents group recently, and a person put forward the idea of a party to celebrate the royal wedding.

It will be on the afternoon of the wedding (Saturday 19th May) which is also the date of the FA Cup final.

As soon as I have more details I shall post on here but the theme is old school games for the kids, cakes bbq etc and requests for items and volunteers to help will be forthcoming. I think it sounds a great idea and it's good to see people getting together and making something happen.

Kind regards
