Volunteering for Marple!

Volunteer reporter Ella Vanstone went along to this Community Meeting at the Railway at the end of October.

Her report on Marple's need for more volunteers and the ideas that are developing has now been published on the main site:

Calling all Marple Volunteers!

A number of great local events are struggling for volunteers – these include Marple Carnival, the Food and Drink Festival, Marple Christmas Cracker and Santa's visit to Top Lock on New Horizons. A meeting has been organised by a lady called Gilly Web to try and tackle this problem and find a way to ensure that these fantastic events do not fade away.

The meeting is at the Railway Pub on Monday 29 October from 7.30pm.

Jenny, the landlady of the Railway, has kindly offered a separate room for the meeting, so just turn up with ideas or a desire to help and see if Community Action can keep these events going.
