The exhibition of photos at the Samuel Oldknow Bar is still running with no plans to end it at the moment.

Last night I was there supping beer and the owners presented us with a cheque for £100, which was a fantastic surprise, so a very big thank you to @Anthony Meynell and Billy Booth for their great support of the project!

I've sold 3 canvases to date, raising £110 for the skatepark, and Lewis Abbott has sold 2 of his raising another £30. The other exhibitors may have sold some too - I'll update when I find out.

So that's an excellent £240 towards the Skatepark Project so far.

Some photos of the exhibition launch on Friday have now been uploaded to the Virtual Tour.

Check out that fabulous spread laid on by Marple Co-Op and All Things Nice (sorry I wasn't able to go, that Blue Stilton looks tremendous! )

Programmes are all printed for tomorrow night's Photo Exhibition launch at Samuel Oldknow's Bar - we've also done a thank you insert to Marple Co-Op for providing Wine and Prosecco, All Things Nice for the Cheese Board and of course Samuel Oldknow's Bar for hosting the event!

I can't see anywhere that tells me how long the exhibition will last. Any idea?

It's pretty open-ended, if it works well for everyone we may keep it going, refreshing the images occasionally. I would think at least a month but maybe longer.

The launch of the photo exhibition at Samuel Oldknow's Bar on Market Street is fast approaching.

The event will be raising funds for Marple Skatepark Project and we'd like to thank @Anthony Meynell at Sam's for hosting this and Marple Co-Op, who are providing a hamper of Wine and Prosecco for the launch night.

Some of the exhibits are now ready for hanging on Friday morning:

Local photographers Lewis Abbott, Arthur Procter and Mark Whittaker* will be displaying photographs for sale in the Samuel Oldknow Bar from the launch night onwards.

There will be free wine and a cheese board for everyone who comes to the open evening on Friday 8th July from 7.30pm until late.

A share of the profits from sales will be donated to Marple Skatepark Development Project to help reach the £100,000 funding target.

* Lewis and Arthur will be displaying their own photographs. In my case, I will include a few of my own efforts but there will also be a couple of samples of canvas prints using vintage images from The Marple Website Virtual History Tour. Not all of the images from the Virtual Tour can be reproduced as large prints or canvases but many can, or can be provided as larger electronic files for people to make their own printing arrangements. In the case of my own photos or the vintage images, all profits will be donated to the skatepark. If you are interested in copies of specific images from the Virtual Tour then let me know by PM or email and I can check out if a suitable hi-res image is available.
