Lots of major Charity Chief Executives pay themselves obscene amounts of money, but then again lots of ordinary people put a lot of their own time and effort into participating in this event and many others.

They deserve your support not a criticism of the charity they are trying to raise money for at this time.

Put your soapbox away and come along to Mellor on Sunday.

Sunday 22 May is the date of Mellor Open Gardens 2016.  See http://www.melloropengardens.org.uk/

This much-loved local event takes place roughly every four years, and offers a rare opportunity to visit and enjoy some of the many lovely gardens scattered around Mellor and Mill Brow.   Admission is by programme, price £7 in advance, £9 on the day, available from local shops including Marple Bookshop, Littlewoods Butchers, and Marple Bridge Post Office.  All proceeds go to Cancer Research UK and Mellor Parish Centre.
