Mellor Well Dressing Festival runs from Saturday 27 June until 3 July and takes place at St Thomas' Church Well.

Dedication of the well is on Saturday 27 June at 1.30pm during the Mellor Fete:

Saturday 27 June...
During the day MELLOR Parish Centre is a wonderful setting for a traditional Village Fete with everything you would expect to be there, from traditional children's games and races to a beer tent well-stocked with craft ales, wine and Pimm's.

Add to that a Rose Queen, live jazz and swing music from Chicago Breakdown and Marple Hall Big Band, a hog roast, gourmet burgers, Punch & Judy, a falconry flying exhibition (meet the birds and have your photo taken with them too) and there's certain to be something for everyone to enjoy. There's even something for the family pooch, which can join in with Ray of Chadkirk's Dog Agility training session.

With the convenience of a drop-off point right outside the door, visitors can start their day off by enjoying lunch and homemade cakes in The Parish Centre from 12pm.

A free minibus will be available from Marple Bridge up to the Fete; follow the signs to the minibus pickup point on the day.

and on into the evening...
From 7pm onwards the mood will mellow and the stage will be taken over by Bands on the Hill.
As day drifts into night on the spectacular setting, the festivities will continue with an eclectic range of excellent music from foot stomping traditional Irish, through blues-punk to good time trio with The Flat Cap Three and high octane local favourite, Lazlo Baby.

The beer tent will still be supplying liquid refreshments and there'll be plenty of food to keep you going from food stalls selling Mexican street food, gourmet burgers, vegetarian options and much more.

Fete information: Entry £2 on the gate with lucky raffle number. Free entry for children.
