Thats a real shame if true, I always go there.

Cheapest, nice staff, nice selection of ales.

Where to go after that? Coop isnt great, the Chirch Lane (!) shop is a ripoff...

Greedy small business person your so right Duke.

The market will dictate, this is just a good example of a free market.

Does the Co-op not own the Hollins or do they only own the shop where Costa is and the empty one next door?

It looks like some sort of dress shop is opening up where the dress agency was.

It is a hive of activity today.

Not bargain booze there.

Yep, the landlord wants to put the rent up, the owner of the franchise is telling him to take a reality check, the owner can obviously move to any empty shop at a rent that is pretty much rent-free. I hope BB pulls it off and stops the greedy landlord being such a greedy so & so.

So my continual giving to marpl state park is that getting boring as well .£10 in the box on Saturday at the coop .

Would you like me to stop posting altogether .

You remind me of JR in Dallas, they didn't see that one coming.

I'm away on holiday for a few weeks and although I'm fully wifi'd up at the hotel, have been challenged by 'er indoors' to keep away from any form of social media.

Back soon... Send a smoke signal if they try building an ASDA while I'm away ;-)

Bargain Booze: I went into the shop today to buy my usual drink (non-alcoholic!). The manager wasn't in the shop, but I queried the sale of the business with the two ladies that were serving. I was informed the landlord was putting up the rent on the shop and the manager was not best pleased with this situation. The business is indeed a franchise.

I hope it continues to trade as it is. I'm happy with the service and the prices.

Asda worked out well in hazel grove, same success could happen at the co-op in marple.

Marple still wanting service, stock and sensible prices.
