Here's a PDF poster that can be printed at A3 or A4 and put up locally to help us publicise the Clean Up Day event.

Please post one in your local shop or community notice board if you can.

If you can put up a poster but can't print this one, please get in touch and we'll deliver one to you.

KÄRCHER CLEANS BRITAIN IS COMING TO MARPLE!

http://www.marplememorialpark.org.uk/projects/karcher-clean-up.html

Friends of Marple Memorial Park has recently won one of three top runners-up prizes in the "Kärcher Cleans Britain 2013" competition.

The top prize was a visit from Kärcher's Clean-Up Squad led by TV's Sarah Beeny. Sadly Sarah won't be coming to Marple but we have still won some fantastic prizes including a day-long visit from the Kärcher Clean-Up Squad and Keep Britain Tidy.

The Kärcher Squad, along with volunteers from Keep  Britain Tidy, will be visiting Marple Memorial Park to give it a professional clean on Thursday 27 June 2013 between approximately 7am until 5pm.

Areas that we hope to clean include around the library, around the Senior Citizens' Hall, the Scout Hut and the Clinic. We've also agreed with Marple Co-Op that we can do the steps and ramp from the park to the Co-Op too.

We also plan to ask Kärcher to clean up a number of other things in the park including several seats, one of our tree sculptures, the area in front of Hollins House, the war memorial stonework and sections of the Infants Play Area fence. We also plan to clean up the old stone water fountain at the Recreation Ground on Oldknow Road.

So long as Kärcher can clear it with the Canal and River Trust we also hope to remove the graffiti from Possett Bridge and have a good clean-up of that area too. Marple Locks Heritage Society has agreed to join us on the day and they will be holding a task day for their members at the same time working on the shrub beds between Lock 12 and Lock 13. Of course this is perfect timing for the Locks Festival on Sunday 30 June.

We would like as many volunteers to join us as possible throughout the day but especially between 10am and 12noon, when the local press will be coming - so we hope to see you there.

In addition to the Clean Up Day Friends of the Park have also won a "Kärcher Clean-Up Kit", comprising a top of the range Kärcher Jet Wash, a Kärcher Steam Cleaner and a Kärcher Window Vac with a total recommended retail value of around £700 - so it will be easy to keep the park sparkling clean in the future!
