Hello!

Yes - Winter Wonderland is normally on the first Saturday in December.  A few years back, and this year the event falls on the 2nd Saturday - the 8th December.

Some of the things we feel are integral to the event are sensitive to the date - so for example if the event was on the 1st December we wouldn't have Christmas Trees up.  For both the trees fitted to the shops by the Marple Bridge Association and the local authority trees, the supply chain simply cannot support erections in November.  No tree = no tree lighting/carols around the tree etc... The list goes on...

We've also noticed another potential clash - the 8th December should be the day that the Mighty Manchester United take on their blue rivals Manchester City.  The Royal Scot will be showing the game live - all welcome.

After having a great deal of discussion and thoughts on the issue we took a view that both events could run together on the same day and certainly complement one another.

This year is the 25th Marple Bridge Winter Wonderland and we're again looking forward to delighting our visitors both old and young with a magical festive experience.

Best wishes

Yes, I noticed.  I always thought Winter Wonderland in Marple Bridge was on the first Saturday in December, which would be the 1st December, but this year it is on the 8th December.  Perhaps that is why they have clashed.
