Thanks to everyone who turn out for the Christmas Cracker.  What a fantastic day showcasing the best of Marple.

It would be a good idea if the organisers of the Marple and Marple Bridge Christmas events could get their heads together and avoid having their events on the same day in future.

Normally the Winter Wonderland is on the first Saturday of December and the Christmas Cracker on the second Saturday.  However, occasionally due to the way the dates fall one is moved as happened this year.

Most years they will be on different weekends.

Yes, I was there, and it was great.  It would be a good idea if the organisers of the Marple and Marple Bridge Christmas events could get their heads together and avoid having their events on the same day in future.

Well done everyone who helped to organise yesterday's Marple Christmas Cracker. We had a great day on our stall raising funds and awareness of the project to improve the skate park in Marple Memorial Park.

It was good to have so many young skate park users there helping us with the survey and talking to Cracker visitors about the plans.

£229 was raised towards the skate park and another £122.50 raised for other local charities.

Three quick updates on the Marple Christmas Cracker event to let you all know about:

Firstly, a big thank you to Marple Website Design & Hosting for becoming the Main Sponsor of the event. I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone on here how great Mark is at supporting the local community and this is another fantastic example.

Secondly, I now have more information about the event.  The event will start at 18.30 on Friday 7th December at Marple Social & Forces Club where Father Christmas will be arriving on New Horizons narrowboat at 19.00.

There will be plenty of entertainment provided by local bands and carol singing as well as food being available.  It promises to be a fun evening.

Thirdly, there is now more information on the Christmas Cracker on the MBF website - www.marplebusinessforum.co.uk.  Or to keep to to date on what's planned like on Facebook or follow on Twitter.
