I've no idea what's going on but I always thought that it was an offence under the highway code if you parked a car on the zigzag lines. Just wonder why it's alright to park a large container on the lines but not a small car? (I have in the past seen people booked the police for committing this offence at the Post office)

I totally agree with you, may be because it has no wheels it is "beyond" the law!?!?!?!?

The container and portaloo are for the workmen who are repairing the pavements. There are several of them relaying the paving slabs.

I must agree though that it is a stupid place to put them. I would have thought that Union Road would have been a better location.

Does anyone know whats happening by the post office?

The container and portable loo have been placed on the Zig zags for several weeks now and causes considerable obstruction to both pedestrians and motorists-hence the need for extra care.

The situation is not helped by the several motorist who regularly park on the approach to the crossing towards Station Rd.
