It’s been a fantastic year for sport in Stockport and Stockport Council wants to celebrate your success with the Stockport Sports Awards, as part of the Active Stockport campaign.
The Stockport Sports Awards recognise local achievements in sport including exceptional coaching, volunteers, clubs, disabled sports and up-and-coming stars.
There are six awards up for grabs:
Coach of the Year
Club of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
Unsung Hero in Sport
Sports Achiever of the Year
Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year
Councillor Shan Alexander, Executive Member for Leisure, at Stockport Council, said: “Stockport Sports Awards are a great way of recognising and rewarding those in our community who have made great achievements this year. If you know of a team or individual who deserves some extra praise, nominate them for an award today.”
The deadline for nominations is 31st December 2008 and the Awards Ceremony will be held on 6th February 2009. The winners will go through to the Greater Manchester Sports Awards on 27th March 2009.
