Amongst the items on the agenda are an Open Forum on the Current Marple Swimming Baths site and Flexi-Funding applications from Plastic Free Marple and Marple Youth Project, and not last but not least, another chapter in the long-running saga to (maybe) remove (some of) the horrible humps on Windlehurst Lane!

The meeting starts at 6pm in Marple Senior Citizens' Hall and members of the public may attend.

The press and public are also able to follow the proceedings by watching the live webcast of the meeting.

Marple Area Committee Meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled

Following the sad announcement of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this meeting of the Area Committee will no longer take place. Any business listed on the agenda for the meeting will now be considered at the next scheduled meeting of the committee. For all enquiries, please contact Democratic Services at 0161 474 3216 or email democratic.services@stockport.gov.uk.

The agenda for the Marple Area Committee Meeting on Wednesday 22 June has been published.

Things will get back to normal following the recent elections with the appoint of a new chair for the committee.

Several interesting topics include news about the Stockport CAN Fund and a Flexibility Funding application from Marple Youth Project to enable them to run 2 times a week.

The location is Marple Senior Citizens' Hall, making it easier for local people to attend.

The press and public are able to follow the proceedings by watching the live webcast of the meeting.

The agenda for the Marple Area Committee Meeting on Wednesday 9 March has been published.

It appears that the meeting will still be in the Town Hall Council Chamber starting at 6pm, although I did think it was mentioned last time that it would be returning to Marple.

A big feature of this meeting is the number of applications for Area Flexibility Funding before the end of the FY from local groups.

The press and public are able to follow the proceedings by watching the live webcast of the meeting.

Marple Area Committee Meeting Wednesday 26 January 2022

Details of the agenda for the Marple Area Committee Meeting of 26 January was announced in this topic as normal.

One item on the agenda (8 ) covering "Marple District Centre Walking and Cycling Improvements" generated huge interest and a large number of posts in this thread.

These responses have now been filtered into a new stand-alone topic focused on that subject in preparation for further discussion when the consultation requested by local councillors is available.

The new topic has been moved to Local Issues and all the posts can be found here: Marple District Centre Walking and Cycling Improvements.

You can watch the area committee meeting on catch-up here: https://democracy.stockport.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?MId=27506&EVT=101&DT=A

Marple Area Committee Meeting of 1st December 2021

Unfortunately I was indisposed in the period leading up to the last Marple Area Committee on Wednesday 1st December, so I was unable to promote it as normal.

It was a long one, over 4 hours and 20 minutes, mainly due to the Garden House Planning Application.

If you missed it like me and want to catch-up you can do so here: https://stockport.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/616722
