Agreed!  The Scot was at one time one of the most gloomy and depressing places in the world (OK, slight exaggeration there!), but it's been transformed into a lively and welcoming place, and the hub of Marple Bridge.  Well done to the two live-wires who run it and everyone else involved.    :)

The Royal Scot in Marple Bridge has reopened after refurbishment,  I did a quick visit on the opening evening on Thursday 22 May,  Food will start in June.

It was the best pint that I have had for years,  It is a very friendly pub, catering for all age groups

Perfect for a leisurely pint, or for an evening relaxation meeting old and new friends.
