Stockport police boost rapid response (Stockport)

Police in Stockport have this week received a boost to the way in which they can respond to emergency incidents.

From 1 April, three brand new Primary Response Vehicles will be in operation to respond to emergency incidents in the Stockport area. A fourth additional Primary Response Vehicle will also be joining the fleet in the next few weeks.

The new vehicles are highly equipped to deal with many emergency situations and are kitted out with items including ladders, rams, stingers and search lights. In addition, they also contain items that may be required at incidents such as tape, exhibit labels, first officer scene kits, masks and knife tubes.

Chief Inspector Stuart Barton from Stockport Police said: “The new partnership funded Primary Response Vehicles will allow us to react more quickly to the needs of people in Stockport, meaning police can arrive at emergency incidents faster and are able to provide a better quality response and reassurance to victims."

“We are constantly looking at ways in which we can improve our service to the people of Stockport and we hope that the new vehicles, combined with the launch of the Public Service Team, means a higher quality of service will be provided to all victims of crime from their first point of call."
