Staff, parents, pupils and governors at Ludworth Primary School in Marple Bridge, Stockport are celebrating after an Ofsted inspection judged the school to be ‘outstanding’ in all areas.

Ofsted gave the school, which has around 320 pupils, the highest Grade 1 assessment in all areas following a rigorous inspection earlier this month.

The report stated that “for many years this popular school has provided high quality education for its pupils. In its centenary year, it continues to be outstanding” and that “outstanding leadership and management by senior staff, other leaders and governors have underpinned the school’s continuing success.”

The report also stated that “highly motivated teachers plan interesting lessons with very good attention paid to pupils’ different abilities and to how teaching assistants can provide the most effective support.”

Headteacher Roary Pownall, said: “We are very pleased to receive such an excellent report from Ofsted showing that the school is ‘outstanding’ in all areas. Ludworth Primary School provides children with an exciting and vibrant environment to learn in, which allows our children to make very good progress throughout their time at the school.

“This report is a real tribute to the hard work, commitment and dedication of all the pupils, staff, parents and governors associated with the school. It is a real pleasure to be headteacher at such a wonderful school.”
