Overseas call centers

Does anyone know the ratio of British based call centers to that of overseas, representing British based companies.

I have made a number of phone calls today to various banking institutions, one of which being Barclay card each one was answered in India. Of five calls made, only one was answered in the UK, at a call center in the North East.

Many High St stores and shops operate foreign based accounting bases.

Are there not sufficient locally based people, throughout the UK anxious to find work here?, or is it down to Big Bonus-ed "fat cats" using poor people on very low wages in order to make even more profit for themselves.

If our banks and telephone companies insist upon using foreign labour, then the law, in my opinion and the government should insist that they only be employed at the very least, commensurate and relative with the current British Minimum wages
