Monthly Table Top sale at Marple Senior Citizens Hall

We've had confirmation that the details for the table top sales in Marple Senior Citizens' Hall are still the first Saturday each month except January and August.

The sales run from 9am to 12 noon and if you want a table it's £8 and you should contact Bernie on 0161 427 1186.

Entry is free and refreshments are available.

The dates are now in the Calendar for 2024.

Join us for a shared creative session in which you bring your creative pursuits into the gallery and work alongside other makers, crafters and artists.

MARPLE BAND MUSICAL DIRECTOR VACANCY

Following the North West Area Contest on the 25th February The Marple Band are seeking a Musical Director.

The Marple Band are currently a 2nd Section Band and we rehearse on Tuesday and Friday evenings 8-10pm in Marple.

We have a balanced diary of concerts, both full band and our Beer Kellar band, and we look to undertake a couple of contests a year, plus Whit Friday.

The band has a friendly atmosphere with a mix of younger and more experienced players. We enjoy working hard as a team and get along well with each other both around the stand and socially.

We are seeking a confident, creative and hard-working Musical Director to take the band forward musically, push the band for more success and to be a part of our team.

NOTICE OF MARPLE CARNIVAL ROAD CLOSURES 15-JUNE 2024

Marple Carnival Committee has submitted an application to SMBC for permission to close the following roads on 15th June 2024 from 11.30hrs to 14.30hrs for the annual Marple Carnival Parade:

A. Oldknow Road (complete closure from 11.30 hrs to 14.30hrs - no through traffic)

B. Strines Road/ Stockport Road/ Hibbert Lane/ Buxton Lane/ Cross Lane/ Stockport Road/ Strines Road (phased closures from 13.00 to 14.30hrs)

Adjoining side roads to those above will also be closed as the parade passes.

Stewards will be stationed along the route to assist emergency services and other road users during the event.

(Please be aware that the parade will be stopped for prolonged periods on Buxton Lane and Cross Lane to allow the route ahead to be cleared of approaching traffic before passage can safely proceed.)

Marple Gang Show is back but tickets are selling fast!

The 2024 show will run from Thursday 21st March to Saturday 30th March 2024.

Matinees will be on Saturday 23rd March and Saturday 30th March and there will be no performance on Sunday 24th March 2024.
