Post by: admin on June 01, 2023, 06:30:20 AM
Community Energy Fortnight: Stockport Hydro Open Afternoon: Sunday 11th  June 1pm - 4pm

Visit your local Hydroelectric Power scheme, producing renewable energy on the River Goyt for over 10 years.

Greater Manchester’s first community owned hydro electric project is run entirely by volunteers*. Producing power that is fed directly into the National Grid, the Hydro creates an income to maintain the scheme, pay a return to investors and contribute to our ever popular Environmental Challenge fund. Our knowledgeable volunteers will give tours of the site and discuss the complexities and quirks involved in such a venture. We look forward to welcoming you.
