On Saturday, I went for a walk with my wife along the Goyt in Brabyn's park. I was surprised to find what appeared to be a giant hogweed on the river bank near the path. I knew it grew along the Bollin, but not in Brabyn's park.
I presume the council is aware of it, as the sap of the giant hogweed plant is phototoxic and rather dangerous. I only saw one plant, but there could be others. Not sure if it needs reporting, or if so, who to report it to.

I think it would be worth reporting to Friends of Brabyns Park:

Good idea. I have now done that.

I went down a small rabbit hole on this. Poking around, it sems that some councils allow you to report invasive species such as Giant Hogweed. The first ones that pop up after a cursory search are Stockton-on-Tees, Preston and Salford. There are many other as well, but it seems Stockport doesn't offer anything specific. The other councils seem to use their Highways teams to deal with it, so I suspect Stockport will be similar, it's just a shame there is no search result for them.
As @Condate says, Giant Hogweed is nasty stuff and the sap causes chemical burns when exposed to sunlight. It does need to be permanently removed or it spreads very quickly.

I did that. They have reported it to the council. I was asked for photos if possible, which I have supplied. I thought perhaps people might be interested to see one of them.
