The Ludworth and Mellor Women's Institute have joined the Marple Website's Community Pages. We were also recently joined by the Marple Branch of the British Red Cross.

The Marple Website Community Pages are tied in with the new 'Visit Marple' Booklet recently published by the Marple Business Forum. If your organisation joins the Community Pages it will also automatically get an entry in the next issue of this excellent booklet.

The Marple Afternoon Townswomen's Guild have also joined the Community pages today - we're delighted to welcome them.

If your non-profit making organisation would like a free page on the site, all you have to do is provide us with the text, pictures and graphics and we'll do the rest. In addition, this will ensure your group is featured in the next edition of the Marple Business Forum's 'Visit Marple' Guide.

We're pleased to welcome a new local organisation, Friends of Our Valley, to the Marple Website Community pages. Friends of Our Valley exists to promote the conservation, improvement and use of the Goyt Valley between Strines and Marple Bridge for the benefit of residents, the local community and visitors to this unique area. Everybody has to start somewhere! It isn't a notepad/html site though, they use Serif Page Plus, which is really a publishing package rather than a web design package. An easier way to get started but not ideal for longer term development of a site. At least they're having a go though  :)

1999 called and would like it's web pages back! It's good to see them on the web but it's definitely a little eye-watering.

There's nothing wrong with basic sites and tools though, I wrote the Marple Junior Rugby Club site (http://www.marpleminis-youthrugbyclub.co.uk/ (http://www.marpleminis-youthrugbyclub.co.uk/)) in Notepad++ although it does use CSS and Javascript to  make it functional.
