Post by: Malcolm Allan on January 03, 2022, 02:51:42 PM
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but here are some road works planned for the new year in our area. Tha last one will affect rail travellers too.

Waterside between Church Lane and a Brickbridge Road junctions
4-5 January
Temporary lights 9.30 - 2.30
BT works

Compstall Road at the Ernocroft Road Junction
4-6 January
Temporary lights
United Utilities works

Longhurst Lane, between junctions with Low Lea Road and St Sebastian Close
ROAD CLOSURE
5th January 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm

Compstall Road at the junction with Mayfield Drive
10th January
Temporary lights
United Utilities works

There are also bridge strengthening repairs planned to the railway bridge in Romiley. This will result in a weekend road closure at this point for a number of successive weekends in January, starting next week. There will also be rail replacement services on Saturday 8th, Sundays 9th, 16th, and 23rd January and 27th February. The data we have keeps being adjusted but looks like it will involve road closures from late Friday night to midnight Sunday. It’s worth checking again and also while the work progresses on the Network Rail web site.
