Title: Who are the candidates for Local Councillor in May 2020?

This section of the forum, first set-up for the 2016 elections, has now been re-badged in preparation for the Local Councillor Elections in May 2020.

What we know at the moment:

At the last Marple Area Committee Tom Dowse, incumbent Conservative Councillor for Marple South and High Lane, intimated that he is not standing for re-election at the end of his current term.

Marple North Councillor Malcolm Allan also reaches the end of his current 4 year term and has confirmed that he will be standing for re-election in May.

So who are the other candidates for the two places up for grabs in 2020?

Last year candidates included @Claire Vibert (Labour) @Hannah Sneddon (Conservative)  @Chris Wallis (Labour) @Carolyn Leather (Green Party) @DarranPalmer (Conservative) and Andrew Threlfall (Green Party). If any of you are standing again, please reintroduce yourselves. Or if you know the details of any new candidates for your parties please encourage them to sign-up to the forum and tell us about themselves.

Incumbent councillors @TomDowseMarpleSouth, @Malcolm Allan, @Steve Gribbon, @ColinMac, @BeckySenior and @Aron Thornley, please point your colleagues here to introduce themselves too.

Hello, thanks for the post. I won’t be standing in Marple North on this occasion. The Labour Part has yet to select its candidates for the Marple wards and we will let you know once we have done so.

Shan Alexander is standing as the Liberal Democrat  candidate in Marple South and High Lane ward  in the 2020 council elections in May.

I’ll be standing as the Green Party candidate for Marple North again.  The Green Party candidate for Marple South will be announced soon.
