With Marple being on the edge of the Peak District and likely to have people wandering out into the hills, I thought this was worth publicising. What3Words is a location finding App for your Smartphone or Tablet.
It says it can pinpoint you to within 3 metres, so in an emergency the police etc can find precisely where you are, so even if you have no mobile signal provided you can send someone with the 3 Words to where there is a signal the police etc can go straight to the emergency point.
It can be used for many other purposes such as where a Post Code is just not sufficient or not known.
As all school children seem to have a smart phone nowadays it would be a useful exercise to see if they could use the App.
