Expressions of interest now being taken for a new fund raising initiative to help Friends of Marple Memorial Park.

You pay £5 subscription each month to the FOMMP Park Fund, this buys you a membership number that enters you into the monthly draw.
*Based on 100 members each contributing £5 per month, monthly prizes would be:
1st prize £125; 2nd prize £75; 3rd prize £50. The remaining 50% will go to the FOMMP Park Fund.

Friends of the Park have cobbled setts installed in front of Danny Winter's bench
This afternoon we've finally been able to uncover the work Friends of the Park have organised in front of Danny Winter's bench. The weather had delayed the resin grout going off since it was done on Tuesday and we still need to have a final tidy-up, which we'll do during our task day on Saturday.
This small project has been funded by Friends of the Park, with a very generous contribution from Danny's family too.

FoMMP 50-50 Club September 2019 Winners!
Friends of Marple Memorial Park conducted the first 50-50 Club Draw last night (14 October 2019) at their monthly meeting and we're delighted to announce the first winners. The draw was made using a Random Number Generator App and the button was pressed by Secretary Micaela Wood. The lucky subscribers are:
- 1st Prize: - £64 - No. 016 Mrs Elaine Knight.
- 2nd Prize: £38 - No. 005 Mick Thompson.
- 3rd Prize: £25 - No. 048 Privacy Requested.
There were 51 paid-up subscribers in the draw generating an income of £255. Half of that is paid out in prizes and the remaining £128 will help us maintain and improve the park. The October Draw prizes should be bigger as we have more subscribers since the end of September. The October 2019 draw will be conducted at our next meeting on Monday 11 November.

First 50-50 Club winner cheque presented in Memorial Park
Delighted we got some sunshine to present the first ever 50-50 Club Draw winner Elaine Knight with her cheque for £64 in the park.
Elaine said she loves what the volunteers have done with the flowerbeds since the council stopped maintaining them and jumped at the chance to show her support.

- 2nd Prize: £55 - No. 013 Mark Whittaker.

For this draw there were 73 paid-up subscribers generating an income of £365. Half of that was allocated as prizes and the remaining £183 will help us maintain and improve the park. An unexpected boost for Park Funds last month was the re-donation of £87 back from generous winners. Thank you!

To generate a regular income to help fund projects in the park, this year Friends of the Park set-up a new 50-50 Club.
This enables supporters to make a regular monthly donation of £5 or more and be in with a chance of winning a cash prize each month too.
So far, after only 3 draws, we've given away £466 in prizes and raised a similar amount for the park.

The draw was made using a Random Number Generator App and the lucky subscribers are:

- 2nd Prize: £61 - No. 043 Privacy Requested.
- 3rd Prize: £40 - No. 058 Privacy Requested.
Note 1: The random number generator App allocated 1, 43 and 58 as the winning numbers this month. As number 1 is allocated to Gill Whittaker, who was a witness at the draw and also won 3rd prize last month, it was agreed by all present that she could select a replacement number at random. Number 35 was selected, which is allocated to Gaynor Price.

The draw was made using a Random Number Generator App and the lucky subscribers are:

Thanks to the generosity of the new Marple Co-Op on Church Lane, Friends of the Park are offering a special 4th prize for their December 50-50 Club Draw.
The new Co-Op that opened two weeks ago has kindly donated this fabulous Christmas Hamper to help promote the FoMMP 50-50 Club.
Subscribe by 31 December to be in with a chance to win!

Friends of Marple Memorial Park conducted the December 2020 50-50 Club Draw on Monday 4 January 2021 and we're delighted to announce the winners. As there was no meeting due to Covid19 constraints, the draw was conducted by the Chairman and Treasurer whilst maintaining safe distances. The 4th Prize of a Christmas Hamper, kindly donated by the new Marple Co-Op, was won by Marian Thompson, seen below receiving it on her doorstep.

- 1st Prize: £108 - No. 052 Tina Maxted.
- 2nd Prize: £64 - No. 042 Doreen Clifford.

Note 1: The random number App allocated 52, 42, 43 and 32 as the winning numbers this month. Subscriber No. 32 (Privacy Requested) declined the Hamper and asked for it to be redrawn. No. 11 was then allocated using the random number App, which was lucky subscriber Marian Thompson.
1st Prize winner Tina Maxted asked for 50% of her win (£54) to be donated to the Park Fund. 2nd Prize winner Doreen Clifford asked for 100% of her win (£64) to be donated to the Park Fund too. Thank you to these generous subscribers.

For this draw there were 92 paid-up subscriptions generating an income of £460. Half of that was allocated as prizes and the remaining £230 will help us maintain and improve the park.
